Smoke detectors are a critical part of any fire protection system. Unfortunately, traditional smoke detectors can be activated by dust, insects or cooking smoke. When this occurs, some system owners disconnect a “too sensitive” smoke detector, leaving the premise unprotected.
In researching new and advanced products, Delco Alarm System is now able to provide a new and advanced smoke detector that can help eliminate this problem. Released by Potter, it is
resistant to dirt, insects, and back pressure. This new technology ensures accurate detection, even in the presence of environmental interference. By continuously monitoring the surrounding environment, they acclimate over time to prevent false alarms.
Dynamic Threat Emergency Communication Technology
D-TECT Sensors are UL 268 7th Edition compliant to be more sensitive to fire while remaining immune to deceptive environmental phenomena. A unique photo chamber (patent pending) design utilizes two light sources to discriminate between fire smoke and cooking nuisance.
Low Standby Current
D-TECT Sensors consume very little power when the device operates during standby normal status. The devices communicate on the Potter addressable protocol employing a proprietary polling technique. In normal condition, the LED flashes when the device is being polled by the control panel. When the input is activated, the LED will flash at a rapid rate.
Unmatched Coverage
D-TECT’s heat sensors span up to an industry leading 70ft from 135° to 185°F allowing fewer detectors to cover the same space and lowering installation costs.
