DSC Maxsys 4020CF
The versatile DSC 4020CF fire/security panel, widely used in the early 2000’s, has been discontinued. The panel was used where a combination fire/security system was needed and was capable of using standard as well as addressable zones.
UL 864 9th Edition
In 2007 the UL 864 ninth edition was released and the DSC 4020CF did not meet the new guidelines. Delco Alarm Systems stopped installing the panel at that time. However, the panels installed prior to 2007 still met UL 864 eighth edition and were allowed to remain in operation. DSC has since made the decision not to make the required changes to the panel in order to meet the 9th edition and have stopped production.
Repair Parts
For several years we were able to obtain repair parts for the DSC 4020CF from the manufacturer. Because of the lengthy process in obtaining replacement parts, we ordered and kept in stock the most used parts. As of January of this year, however, Delco Alarm Systems’ stock of repair parts was depleted. Likewise, the manufacturer no longer has these parts in stock.
Effects on the system
Since then, we have been working to provide our customers with an upgrade to this fire/security panel. Keep in mind, the DSC 4020CF panels were a combination fire/security panel and primarily used addressable devices. That means, if your system needs a new smoke detector, addressable module or keypad it cannot be replaced and has to be removed to clear the trouble condition.
Delco Alarm Systems is committed to working with our customers to upgrade these systems at a reasonable cost. If you have any questions prior to our sales staff contacting you, please call our office at 610-494-9100.
